Music: Life without it is an error
The better part of my day is spent with headphones on my ears or music coming from my computer speakers. It doesn’t matter what kind of mood I am in, there is a song for it. Music can make me happy, cheer me up, voice my anger, relieve my stress, make me cry, make me hopeful.
Sometimes it just translates the tragic beauty of life that I find so intriquing. And sometimes music is frustrating because it tells me what I’m feeling before I know I’m feeling it; when I can’t figure myself out it does it for me. Every song means something different to the listener, it's up to interpretation, but at the same time it's not, because what it means to begin with is what makes each song so incredible.
Music defines my relationships in so many ways. I can’t count the number of people I’ve met and the number of friendships that have been formed through music – through a band, a song or a concert.
Music is at its peak, at its best, when it’s live. Concerts are music at its basic stage. It’s raw, there’s nothing altering it as it comes from the vocal system of the singer and the amps of the instruments. You can feel the same things that whoever was writing the song was feeling when they wrote it. It pulses through you and each show is an experience I will never forget.
The past year I have been to several incredible, practically life-changing concerts. Click the link below to see photos from the shows that meant the most to me.
Music = Life Slide Show
My Favorite Bands:
My Chemical Romance

oh how wrong we were to think that immortality meant never dying
Green Day

it says 'home is where your heart is,' but what a shame, cause everyone's heart doesn't beat the same
AFI

i'll lay me down tonight...swim in the calm, this art does drown
The Used

this poison's my intoxication...
Armor for Sleep

i'm in a car underwater with time to kill, thinking back i forgot to tell you this
Hanson

i want you for always, i hear your name in every word i say
HIM

your heart, under the rose

two roads split off from here, and my life goes running in opposite directions, exaggerating the barrier between who i am and who i want to be
Our Lady Peace

i'll be holding your hand, watching you drown, watching you scream, quiet or loud
